Zion Tubing Tour on the Virgin River and What to Know
The Virgin riverbed is rocky and sandy. It can hurt your feet when you stand up, so wear Crocs, old sneakers, or flip-flops to protect yourself. The tubing trip takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes; bring these items to insure your comfort…
- Sunscreen
- Sunglasses
- Visor or hat
- Swim wear or clothing you don’t mind getting wet
- Towels (leave in your car)
- Waterproof camera
Leave valuable belongings in your vehicle and deposit your car key at the Zion Tubing office so you don’t lose it in the river.
How the Zion Tubing Tour Works
Reservations are not necessary. Walk-ins are welcome. The Tubing Tour on the Virgin River happens every day, rain or shine during the season. Tours depart continuously from 9:00am until the last shuttle leaves at 5:00pm.
Park your car in the shared lot between Zion Tubing and Buffalo Trails Trading Company. Check in where you see the red tubes. The Zion Tubing shuttle bus will take you back and forth to the river so your car doesn’t get wet.
Your ticket includes a super deluxe tube with backrest, handles, and covered bottom and a personal flotation device. Sorry, insurance regulations say you can’t bring your own tube.
The water is mostly 2 – 4 feet deep, with some slightly deeper pools. The water temperature averages a refreshing 75 degrees. Bring a small cooler and your waterproof camera. You’ll need it to shoot pictures of birds, frogs, fish, crayfish and lizards. There are NO water snakes in Utah!
Zion Tubing offers special deals for local people and folks who want to take two tours per day. Call them at (435) 272-8229 for all the details.
